IMPACT OF HUMAN RESOURCE PLANNING ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE (A CASE STUDY OF ZENITH BANK IN ABUJA METROPOLIS)
Abstract
This study investigated the impact of Human Resource planning on organization performance using Zenith bank in Abuja Metropolis. The Human Resource Planning that was studied are Work Evaluation, Recruitment and Choosing and Training and Development, Manpower Planning and Employee involvement. A sample of 65 permanent staffs from 10 branches of Zenith bank in Abuja Metropolis participated in the study through questionnaires. SPSS was used to perform the analysis of the quantitative data. Descriptive statistics represented mean scores, while multiple regression analysis is used to test for the research hypotheses. The findings of this study shows that R, the multiple correlation coefficient stood at 0.975 which indicates a strong correlation. R2, the multiple coefficients of determination of the variables stood at 0.95 indicating that about 95% of the total variation in organizational performance is explained by variations in the independent variables captured in the study. However, the study concluded that Human Resource planning have a significant impact on employee performance. The study thus recommends that organizations should utilize a variety of Human Resource Planning (HRP), especially recruitment and choosing which has the highest effect (β = 0.626) on organizational performance.
