THE EFFECT OF JOB SATISFACTION ON EMPLOYEES’ PRODUCTIVITY

Abstract


Employee productivity has always been a major challenge in human resource management and adopting effective ways to encourage employees to achieve higher productivity as well as improve the organizational performance in a very competitive business environment. Thus, the objective of this study is to examine the effect on job satisfaction on employees’ productivity. Job satisfaction is a very important attributes which is frequently measured by organizations. Survey research design was adopted for the study. Data was collected using self- administered questionnaire to 64 respondents. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and multiple regressions. The findings from the study showed that job environment and job security and significant and positive effect on employee productivity. The study recommends that the best way to improve employees’ satisfaction is to focus on factors that will improve the working conditions, provide promotional opportunities, health benefits and other non-monetary rewards that will increase the employees’ sense of belonging; this will in turn increase their productivity.
